Do I have to Sign in to purchase a product or place an order?
You do not need to Sign in to purchase a product. Simply click on the ORDER EXTRACT to place the order. During the order process you will be required to complete your credit card details.
What is the difference between a guest and a registered user?
A 'guest' user is also referred to as a “casual” user. This is for users that only require to purchase products on an infrequent basis. Registered users are reserved for higher volume and frequent users. Guest users are required to enter credit card details for each transaction.
I am having trouble accessing my registered account. What can I do?
If you have forgotten your Password you can click on the 'forgot your password' link on the Log in screen. Details will be emailed to the registered user's email address. If you continue to have difficulties please use the Contact details displayed on the home page.

What is the Organisations & Business Names search?
The Organisation & Business Names search provides information on organisations and business names recorded on ASIC's registers. Some of the organisation types that can be searched include: companies, business names, registered bodies, foreign companies, associations, managed investment schemes and non-registered entities.
What information does the company extract provide?

Searching for company details has never been easier.

Both Current and Historical company extracts are available for purchase.

Company Extract - current provides a complete set of organisation information including:

  • Current company directors, secretaries, liquidators and administrators (if appointed)
  • Current registered office addresses and current principal place of business
  • Current shareholders including details of shareholdings (excluding public companies)
  • Document details on all forms lodged with ASIC
  • Company Extract - historical includes both the current and previous information of the organisation including:
    • Current and former company names
    • Current and previous company directors, secretaries, liquidators and administrators (if appointed)
    • Current and previous registered office addresses and principal place of business Current and previous shareholders including details of shareholdings (excluding public companies)
    • Document details on all forms lodged with ASIC
What information will I see for free?
The information you receive will depend on the organisation you are searching for. Some examples of information we provide for free include: organisation name, unique identification number (ABN, ACN, ARBN, ARSN), type of company, registration date next review date, locality of registered office and whether the organisation holds a professional license or registration (for example an AFS or credit licence).
What information does the Know Your Company (KYC) Due Diligence (DD) report provide?

How does the person name search work?
The personal name search is the first stage of requesting a personal name extract. The request must provide a name (family plus given) and advise whether the extract is to contain historical roles and/or shareholdings. It may also provide a range of birth dates. If these are provided, only names matching the birth date range, or having no birth date recorded, will be provided. For a valid request, the reply will contain a list of personal names which meet the search criteria, plus a unique search results identifier. A personal name extract can then be requested to contain details pertaining to all or some of the names provided When a personal name is included in the result list because a former name matches the request criteria, then that former name will be returned here and the current name will also be provided. When a personal name is included in the result list the current name matches the request criteria, then the former name elements will be null.
Person searching?

A personal name search will assist to identify an individual.

By entering a first name and family name, a list of persons will be provided.

To narrow down the list of results proceed to a date of birth or a date range.

It is possible to select one or more entries from the search results for the one price.

The extract will provide information relating to:

  • Current and prior Officeholder roles held in the respective companies
  • Current and prior licences held
  • Current and prior details of shareholdings held
  • Person document details
What does the document search do?
The document search provides document lodged by companies with ASIC. Two price levels are available based on the number of pages within the specified document image (less than 10 pages, greater than 10 pages).
What data is contained in ASIC business name searches?

Your business name is the name by which your business is recognised.

You are required to register a business name if you trade under a name that is different to your legal entity name; or you have a legal business structure, a partnership or any other non-incorporated entity.

A registered business name also protects your organisation by preventing other entities using your name.

Prime Search enables you to search companies, business names, registered bodies, foreign companies, associations and more.

You will receive information relating to the organisation name, the unique identifying number (AB/ACN/ARBN/ARSN), type of company, registration date, whereabouts of registered office and whether or not the organisation holds a professional license or registration (eg an AFS or credit licence).

  • Current owners/holders, associates and representatives
  • Current addresses

Business Name Extract - historical includes both the current and previous information of the business name including:

  • Current and former owners/holders, associates and representatives
  • Current and former addresses
How does the business name person search work?

This service caters for the retrieval of person details where the person has an affiliation with a business name - as per the records in ASIC's register.

The roles that the person may have in context of a business name include:

  • business name owner
  • when the owner is a sole trader
  • associate - meaning the person is associate with an entity that owns the business name. For example the partners in a partnership or a joint-venture and the organisation representatives for the unincorporated entities ASIC provides two types of extracts:
    • A. Current Business Name Holder - Person Extract - this will provide current information related to registered business names
    • B. Current & Historical BN Holder - Person Extract - this will also include the cancelled business names This message allows user to obtain current information (current person extract) or current and historical information (current and historical person extract).
